Performance and Capability

The fully-boxed, full-length ladder frame is extensively reinforced and strengthened for added stiffness and torsional rigidity. All TITAN XDs are powered by a 5.6-liter Endurance DOHC V-8 producing 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. The engine features 32 valves and has both variable timing and direct injection. It is matched to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain includes Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and an Electronic Locking Rear Differential. The brakes are robust, with 14.17 x 1.5-inch front rotors and 14.37 x 1.2-inch rotors in the rear.

Most XD grades are available with a fully integrated gooseneck hitch in the bed that attaches to the frame enabling it to tow up to 11,033 pounds. It can tow up to 10,898 pounds with a standard hitch. Trailer Sway Control is standard in all grades, and an internal Trailer Brake Controller is standard in SV and above grades. The payload inside the bed is up to 2,406 pounds.

Design and Features

The XD interior combines truck utility with car comfort. S and SV grades have a front bench that can seat three for a total capacity of six. Pro 4X and Platinum reserves have leather bucket seats, which is also an option for SV.

The driver is greeted by twin physical analog gauges flanking a useful 7.0-inch information display. The center display is eight inches on S and SV grades and nine inches on Pro4X and Platinum Reserve. Bluetooth® for phone use or streaming, Hands-Free Text Assistant, and both USB-A and USB-C ports are standard across the model line. Also standard is the Safety Shield® 360 bundle of safety, and driver assist features which include:
