Performance and Safety

All Versa models are powered by a 1.6-liter DOHC Inline-4 producing 122 horsepower @ 6,300 rpm and a peak torque of 114 lb-ft @ 4,000 rpm. The engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual on the S trim, with an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) available on the S and standard on the SV and SR. Fuel economy is rated up to 32 mpg city, 40 mpg highway, and 35 mpg for Xtronic CVT models. The chassis features an independent strut suspension with a stabilizer bar, while the rear features a torsion beam. Twin Tube shock absorbers are at each wheel. Outside, the Versa shares styling with the larger sedans in the Nissan lineup, including similar grille, tail light, and roof designs. Wheels range from 15-inch steel wheels with covers to 17-inch alloys on the SR. All models feature a Tire Pressure Monitoring System and Easy Fill tire alert in which, while filling the tires with air, the horn will sound when you reach the correct pressure.

The spacious interior stands in contrast to the car’s small footprint with best-in-class front legroom and headroom. The trunk offers 15 cubic feet, and SV and SR trims provide 60/40 folding rear seatbacks for flexible passenger and cargo combinations. Even the base model provides remote keyless entry, a 7-inch touchscreen, and three USB ports. All models feature cloth seats that are naturally cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The seat fabric upgrades with each trim.
