The Nissan Frontier got a significant update for the 2022 model year, which brought a complete styling overhaul, a new interior, and better tech. The 2025 model sees further upgrades, including more towing capacity, a more comprehensive offering of the long-bed option, and more safety features.

Nissan overhauled the Frontier’s exterior styling with a new front fascia, grille, and bumper. The Pro-X and Pro-4X models get a new tailgate finisher and 17-inch wheels. All models also now come standard with a sliding rear window. Nissan is offering the six-foot bed and crew cab configuration with more trims, which it said would “cater to Frontier drivers looking to carry larger loads.” The automaker also offers bed accessories, including a Utili-Track system with adjustable tie-down cleats and a spray-in bedliner.

The truck’s interior now features a standard telescoping steering wheel, and some trims picked up a power-adjustable passenger seat. The SV and higher trims get a new power lumbar support system. SV and higher trims also have a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Frontier’s 3.8-liter V6 is rated at 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or four-wheel drive. All models come with an active brake limited-slip differential, and the Pro-4X steps up to a true electronic-locking differential for better off-road traction. Towing capacity increased by around 500 pounds for the new model year, reaching 7,150 pounds in some configurations.

All 2025 Frontiers come standard with a generous list of advanced driver assistance systems. They include lane departure warnings, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. The SL trim adds traffic sign recognition. The Pro-4X adds a surround-view camera system with an off-road viewing mode that can be used at up to 12 mph.
