How Athletic Shoes and Football Helmets Shape The Design of The 2025 Nissan Kicks
Southeastern Minnesota is a great place for athletes to shine. Whether it is hockey, baseball, football, basketball, track and field, or other athletic pursuits, our healthy outlook keeps us in “the game.”
It comes as no surprise that the new 2025 Nissan Kicks gets its design inspiration from sporting equipment – from head to toe.
When it came to shaping the 2025 Kicks, Nissan designers observed that many of its customers love wearing sports gear of some sort. Whether it is packing the house at a Honkers baseball game or packing up for a Vikings game in downtown Minneapolis, owners have no qualms about rocking their gear anywhere they go.
For starters, Nissan’s designers looked at the grippy crosshatch design on the rubber soles of athletic shoes. That inspired the geometric design on the front bumper and rocker panels.
High-end sneakers added more inspiration to the 2025 Kicks on the inside. On the outside, you can see a pop of color between the body color and the contrasting roof, just like special editions of Air Jordans or the best running shoes from Asics. That same idea is carried into the cabin with the sporty fabric inserts on the seats and door cards.
Another point of inspiration came from the linebacker position on a football field. That created a sense of protection through the 2025 Kicks’ frontal view with its big, solid fenders and a rounded cabin and roof section resting on top of the beltline. The Nissan designers were able to replicate the profile of a football helmet on top of a linebacker’s padded shoulders.
Further evidence of football’s influence on the design of the 2025 Kicks is on the daytime running lights. The designers said that they were shaped in the form of the eye black markings on many football players.
Speaking of football, Nissan continues to sponsor The Heisman Memorial Trophy. You might just see a 2025 Kicks on our “Heisman House” commercials this coming college football season.
Nissan’s designers looked beyond the automotive world to deliver a fresh, bold look. They have done so to maximize the character for the final 2025 Kicks design as drawn by Nissan Design America in San Diego, California.
The designers at Nissan spent a lot of time creating the character of the 2025 Kicks. If you are looking for a vehicle that offers character, quality, practicality, and fun, contact us at Nissan of Rochester to experience this new smaller SUV soon!
