Buying a new car comes with a range of different expenses, but maintenance is one you generally don’t think about until you need it. Nissan has considered the stress it can cause and is rolling out a new Maintenance Care service program to help owners with scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 24,000 miles of ownership.

The program launched in August 2024, initially applying to the 2025 Kicks and Rogue SUVs. Nissan will expand the program across all models in the 2025 lineup by January 2025 and said its EVs are covered by the separate EV Carefree+ service. That program covers the Nissan Ariya and Leaf EVs for three years or 36,000 miles. It includes regularly scheduled maintenance, an EV battery health program that covers the pack for up to eight years or 100,000 miles, EV charging assistance, and EV roadside assistance.

Kim Less, Nissan’s VP of Aftersales, said, “We want owning or leasing a Nissan to be rewarding and stress-free, and the Nissan Maintenance Care program will help drivers have an even more positive experience with their vehicle. The launch of this service program is just another way that Nissan continually works to ensure customers have a seamless and convenient experience from start to finish.”

Nissan’s maintenance program adds peace of mind and convenience, but the brand has recently been on the upswing in initial quality rankings. The automaker jumped seven places in J.D. Power’s 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), which measures buyers’ sentiment after 90 days of ownership.

The 2025 Nissan lineup is exciting even without the added security of free maintenance. The new Kicks recently debuted, sporting a revised design, the latest technology, and an updated interior. It’s the first Kicks available with all-wheel drive, and the crossover’s new styling gives it an imposing curb presence. Additionally, Nissan gave the vehicle 8.4 inches of ground clearance, making it more capable and stable in rough conditions.

Powering the 2025 Kicks is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 141 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. That output reaches the front or all four wheels through a continuously variable transmission. The new Kicks is available in three trim levels: S, SV, and SR, and pricing will be available closer to its on-sale date.
