New Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition

Off-road-ready SUVs are more popular than ever, and even the most family-friendly models are jumping on the trend. Nissan’s Rock Creek package brings styling and functional upgrades to the Pathfinder and Rogue SUVs, offering buyers the ability to do more with their vehicles while riding in style.

The Rock Creek package debuted with the 2023 Pathfinder, bringing a long list of upgrades, including:

  • 18-inch beadlock-style wheels with all-terrain tires
  • Tubular roof rack with up to a 220-pound capacity
  • Off-road suspension with a 5/8-inch lift
  • Orange contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and dash
  • Rock Creek badges
  • Leatherette and fabric upholstery
  • Unique front fascia
  • Surround-view camera

Nissan also equipped a tow hitch receiver and harness, and the SUV’s towing capacity reached 6,000 pounds. The Rock Creek package boosted the Pathfinder, taking horsepower from 284 to 295 and torque from 259 pound-feet to 270.

The Rogue Rock Creek debuted for the 2024 model year, sporting similar upgrades. It gets 18-inch wheels with Falken Wild Peak all-terrain tires, unique color options, water-repellant leatherette upholstery, a unique front fascia, and a roof rack. It also gets heated front seats, a surround-view monitor with an off-road view mode, and all-wheel drive with hill descent control.

The 2024 Rogue retained its 1.5-liter variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engine. It makes 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque, and in the Rogue Rock Creek, it pairs with a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive. The Rogue also gets a robust suite of advanced driver assistance features, a generous number of tech options, and some of the most comfortable seats in the auto business.

Nissan’s Rock Creek package artfully balances on-road comfort and off-road capability, though the changes don’t offer the robust capabilities seen in dedicated off-road models. That said, the upgrades are strong enough to allow the SUVs to go way off the beaten path, making them excellent weekend getaway vehicles.

The robust roof racks can carry almost all the gear campers need, and the Pathfinder’s lift kit allows it to tackle surprisingly challenging terrain. Rugged interior materials like synthetic leather help repel water and keep the cabin clean, and they’re better for people who have pets.
