Performance
Under the hood of all 2025 Armadas is a twin-turbo, direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6. It produces 425 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and has a peak torque of 516 lb-ft 3,600 rpm. This represents best-in-class standard gas-engine power and amounts to 25 more horsepower and 103 more lb-ft of torque than the previous Armada V-8. The VR35DDTT, as it is known, has added technologies for improved efficiency, such as mirror bore coatings in the cylinders for reduced friction. The engine’s Idle Stop-Start ensures you are not using fuel at stop lights or backed up traffic.
The transmission is also all-new, with two more forward ratios than before. The 9-speed automatic transmission has a 40% wider ratio range and quicker upshifts. Paddle shifters are standard across the line, which can be most useful when you wish to maintain a lower gear on a mountain incline or use engine braking.
The 2025 Armada has a standard towing capacity of 8,500 pounds. A Class IV tow hitch and a 7-pin harness/pre-wiring are standard. An integrated trailer brake controller is found on the PRO-4X and Platinum Reserve grades. By inputting the trailer length, the Blind Spot Monitoring system extends the blind spot to cover the length of the trailer.
All grades but one have standard rear-wheel drive with intelligent four-wheel drive as an option. The exception is the new PRO-4X model, which has standard four-wheel drive and several other features to increase off-road capability. These include an electronic locking rear differential, Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension, all-terrain tires, a metal underbody skid plate, and a unique front fascia reshaped to improve its approach angle. The air suspension can raise the model to 9.6 inches of ground clearance or lower the model for easier entry and exit.
Exterior
The 2025 Armada retains the previous model’s distinctive kick-up rear quarter windows, but the surfacing and details are all new. The all-LED exterior lighting provides a strong appearance up front with a distinctive light signature day and night. For the first time, the Armada can sport a two-tone paint treatment with a black or grey roof to contrast the body color. Another unique detail is an above-mounted rear wiper that is essentially hidden from view under the rear spoiler until needed.
Interior
Open the front door and immediately noticeable is the new dash, its long upper panel housing both the 12.3-inch digital driver information display and the 12.3-inch center touchscreen. On the Platinum and Platinum Reserve grades, both displays grow to 14.3 inches. Besides the high-definition screens, there are plenty of tactile physical controls for instant access to the most used functions. This includes dash-mounted buttons to control the transmission, freeing the wide center console for storage and other uses. A grand easy-to-reach rotary dial lets you quickly access the Armada’s multiple drive modes.
Found on upper models are elegant finishes such as open-pore wood trim, quilted leather-appointed seating, and available 64-color ambient lighting. The driver has a commanding viewpoint with the highest driver’s eye point in the class.
The Armada is also more spacious, including an additional 4.2 inches of front legroom and an additional 5.7 inches of legroom for the third-row seat passengers. Behind the third row, the cargo room increases to 20.4 cubic feet. With the third-row seatbacks down, the space increases to 56.3 cubic feet, and in full cargo mode, it can accommodate 97.1 cubic feet, another increase over the previous model.
Technology
The center touchscreen is backed by the Google built-in system on SL and higher grades. This means you can access Google Maps without a cellphone connection. The effective Google Assistant voice recognition system is also part of the system, and additional apps are available from the Google Play Store. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard on all Armadas, and for passengers who wish to keep their devices charged, there are six USB Type-C ports throughout the cabin. SL and higher grades also feature a wireless phone charger in the center console. The Armada’s top sound system comes from renowned home audio speaker manufacturer Klipsch, featuring 600 watts and 12 speakers, including the company’s DualPower subwoofer.
Camera technologies include a 3D version of Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor, an Invisible Hood View to see directly in front of the vehicle, and a Front-Wide View to see past parked cars, buildings, or other obstacles.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The all-new 2025 Armada offers three different levels of driver assistance technology depending on the grade. ProPILOT Assist is standard on SV and PRO-4X grades, and it combines intelligent cruise control and lane centering. SL, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve grades feature ProPILOT Assist 1.1, which integrates navigation information to adjust vehicle speed for curves and interchanges.
Available on these three models is the all-new ProPILOT Assist 2.1 which enables attentive drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel in single-lane freeway operation. The system covers acceleration, steering, and braking. It is based on pre-mapped highways.
Naturally, all Armadas are equipped with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes:
- Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
- Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
- High Beam Assist
- Blind Spot Warning
- Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention
- Lane Departure Warning
- Intelligent Lane Intervention
- Rear Automatic Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Alert
